ANIMATION
For his solo exhibition at Stadtgalerie, Bern-based artist Remo Stoller commissioned me to produce a 20 minute long 3d animation. This video installation features an ink jet printer that contantly changes its appearance while printing works and reference images.
TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS
Considering the tens of thousands of photo-realistic frames that had to be rendered in a short time, I used nVidia's GPU accelerated USD Composer. The computationally expensive rendering was considerably accelerated. Never the less, my computer was busy for about a week to render the sequence.

Pixar's Universal Scene Description file format was used to move the scene to nVidia's USD Composer for real-time raytracing.

Final compositing in Adobe After Effects.
