EXHIBITION DESIGN
exhibition on plant morphology
orangerie, botanical garden Bern
CONTEXT
As one of the greenhouses at the Botanical Garden Bern is empty during summer, the exhibition was conveniently housed in the orangerie. The location, the light and vertical spaciousness oft greenhouse were a perfect match for our exhibition. The walk-in cylinder with a cyclic timeline takes the center stage. We used it as a life-cycle of the sycamore maple. The exhibition was ob tour and has on display at PHBern, Pädagogische Hochschule Bern and at World Nature Forum in Naters.
PROJECT
The goal was to visually approach plant morphology, propagation and growth over time and compare it across different species. As the client involved me early on, I was able to shape the overall scenography. Therefore I had the opportunity to translate a good amount of scientific source material on plant morphology to a highly visual experience. Concise texts and a wide range of infographics, photos and drawings complement each other. My role was to structure the information and design the exhibition that it appeals to visitors of any age. Over the period of about two years I closely collaborated with Dr. Kathrin Studer-Ehrensberger (the initiator of the exhibition) and Franziska Fahrni-Habegger.

A special thank you also goes to Franziska Fahrni-Habegger that referred and supported me with countless percil drawings and vectorized scans.
